Author's Note: My book Hudson Valley Zombie Apocalypse follows Dr. Rebecca "Becks" Truesdale in her struggle to survive the infection and subsequent spread of the zombie parasites throughout the Hudson Valley of New York. I had really wanted to give Becks a dog, but it really didn't fit in that storyline. However, I didn't give up on the idea. When the opportunity to do a graphic novel version of the some of the HVZA stories came up, I quickly agreedwith the understanding that I could include an illustrated dog short story.
Hence, War Dog was born, and I have received a lot of positive feedback on the story. Many people have asked when I'm writing an entire War Dog book. I am thinking about it, and I wouldn't rule out Becks finally meeting up with the heroic dog. In the meantime, here's the story from the graphic anthology, complete with the amazing artwork of Ken Frederick who created these poignant and compelling scenes.

Autorenporträt

Earning a B.S. in Chemistry and a Master's in English Literature made it obvious early on that Linda had wide-ranging interests. After working as a research scientist throughout the 1980s, she decided to pursue her real passion-writing. Today, Linda is the author of over 30 books, is a popular speaker, and has made numerous appearances on television and radio. She has received honors and awards for her books on American history, and has lectured at the Smithsonian, West Point, and Gettysburg. Astronomy and the space program are also favorite topics for her books, articles, and lectures. In addition, Linda has appeared at major science fiction conventions for her science fiction and zombie novels, and is internationally known for her "Ghost Investigator" series of books and UFO books and film.
