Dr. Sadhan Kumar Ghosh, Professor & Former Head of Mechanical Engineering Department and Founder coordinator of the Centre for QMS at Jadavpur University, Kolkata-700032, India, is a renowned personality in the field on Waste Management, Green Manufacturing & Green Factory and TQM. He served as the Director, CBWE, Ministry of Labour and Employment, Govt. of India and L&T Ltd. Prof Ghosh is the founder and Chairman of the IconSWM and the President of the International Society of Waste Management, Air and Water and the chairman of the “Indian Congress on Quality, Environment, Energy and Safety Management Systems (ICQESMS)”. He has been awarded the Distinguished Visiting Fellowship 2012 by the Royal Academy of Engineering, UK to work on 'Energy Recovery from Municipal Solid Waste'. He received the Boston Pledge and NABC 2006 award for the most eco-friendly innovation “Conversion of plastics & jute waste to wealth” in the ESP/50K Business Plan Competition at Houston, Texas, USA. He received Indian patent on “eco-friendly plastics recycling machine and the process there of” [Patent no.202532 dated 02/03/2007] and “Automatic High Speed Jute Ribboning Machine” in Bangladesh [Patent no. 1005146 dated 17/02/2014] innovated by him, patent in India is awaited.

Prof. Ghosh is the international expert of the, a) United Nations Centre for Regional Development under the UN in 3R Forum [Adelaide, 2016] and b) Asian Productivity Organization (APO), Japan and China Productivity Council (CPC) on Green manufacturing and Green Factory (Taiwan 2014, 2015, 2016) and c) Research Project for GP for the BoP business in APO member countries in Asian (May 2016- June 2017). His papers on waste management, namely on biowaste, e-wastes and MSW received Excellence Awards in many countries. His very recent international research project as India Leader are, a) Erasmus plus with UK and Thailand 2015-16, b) UKIERI 2011-13 Research Project on “Climate Change Issues and Environmental Performanceof Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs) in India and the UK”, c) UKIERI 2012-14 Research Project on “Waste to Energy from Municipal Waste – design of DSS for planning and implementation”, d) UKIERI funding on “Developing Low Carbon SMEs through Lean and Green Manufacturing” for 2015-16 and, e) Royal Society - DST fund for "UK- India Seminar of Bio Energy" held in February 2015 with UK partners.

He has been serving as the member of international steering committees and editorial boards and served as the Keynote / Plenary speaker in many international conferences, namely in Australia, China, Germany, Hong Kong, Italy, Laos, Malaysisa, USA, UK, and India. He has initiated the movement for worldwide Sustainable Waste Management with partners in many countries through the “Task Force for International Cooperation on Waste Utilization” (TF4ICWU) and Consortium of Researchers in International Collaboration (CRIC). He was the convener of ISO TC 61 WG24, member in the Indianmirror committee of ISO TC 207 and chaired the ISO TC 61 WG2 meeting in several countries. He has been Principal Investigator of more than 24 research projects. He has been requested to act as the organizing Chair of 4th 3RINC, by Materials Cycles Society, Japan and the Chair Elect of 7 th IconSWM 2017. He wrote nine books, more than 24 edited volumes, more than 140 national and international publications and Book Chapters.
