The paper describes the origin of life from the water vapor of the earth's atmosphere. It conveys, how from the inorganic, life can develop. Until now, water and the element carbon were often mentioned when it came to the origin of life, but without being concretized. Now for the first time a logical connection between gaseous water and carbon in the emergence of life is established. Wa-ter does not play a role as primordial ocean or water pond, but in its gaseous aggregate state as water vapor. The main thesis is that water vapor bubbles are the proto- or origin cells of all life on earth. Free carbon in the air forms hydrocarbon rings in reactions with the hydrogen of the water vapor bubbles. Due to the infinite valence of carbon, more hydrocarbon rings are formed and the cell enlarges. Depending on the environment and conditions, the cells then develop further into unicellular organisms and, in a further stage of development, into multicellular organisms. This natural process repeats itself on earth even today, since primeval times and is the cause for the stepwise developed species of living beings including man. All kinds of living beings have so an own development strand.
