The book details her journey. She tells about her friendship with her Atlanta gal pal, who walked the journey with her from day 2 with no judgment, just love. A tradition they developed is that every Sunday afternoon, they would talk on the phone. She goes into detail about behaviors, relationships, programs, the prison system and how she maneuvered her way through the system. She speaks of the staff and administrators who assisted her. Ms. Williams talks about her prayer and meditation as her saving grace.
She shared her routine, practice, and mindset while incarcerated. She was determined to come out of the valley a better human being and enlightened. She gathered knowledge while in the valley, completing her studies in Buddhism under the instruction of Dzoghen Ponlop Rinpoche through Mind without Borders, HVAC and UVA's Darden School of Business thanks to Professor Fairchild and Resilience Education.
