George Hooper (1824-1890) was a British journalist and historian who specialized in military reportage. He wrote on subjects as varied as the American Civil War, the Italian campaigns of Napoleon, and the Crimean War. He worked for a number of newspapers and magazines, including the Leader, the Spectator, the Globe, the Army and Navy Gazette, and the Daily Telegraph.
