Gephardt commutes daily between her home in Kansas City, USA, and Rana Station, a habitat space station the size of New York City, a very long way from Earth and several hundred years in the future.Writer, artist, and longtime science fiction fan, Jan's been a teacher, a journalist, an illustrator, a graphic designer, an art director, a book designer, a marketing specialist, and an art agent, all while rearing two children and honing the writer's craft for several decades.Her fine-art paper sculpture has been featured in regionally-exhibited one-person shows, juried into national exhibitions all over the United States, and is on display wherever she travels to science fiction conventions. She has been married to her partner and "patron of the arts" Pascal Gephardt for more than forty years. She and her sister G. S. Norwood are the co-founders/owners of Weird Sisters Publishing LLC.
