Dave sighed deeply, not expecting such an answer. He couldn't keep his eyes from wandering over to the man in front of him, slouched over, sipping his whiskey, his eyes growing dim with guilt and intoxication. Jeb wasn't even looking at him, wouldn't look at him, and Dave felt like if he did he would steal his soul just like that. It wouldn't take much for the feeling to end up mutual, and it terrified them both.
