In a cottage in the woods lived an elephant, a monkey, a bear, and a pig. They were best friends. Each animal would leave home every day for work. Before exiting for work, they were sure to clean their house, leaving not a crumb on the floor. One day after returning home from work, they discovered their favorite vase was scattered in pieces on the floor. Puzzled by the mystery, each animal started to blame one another. After accusing one another, they made an amazing discovery.

Katie Scofield was born in a small community in Hughes, Arkansas. She lived with her parents and seventeen siblings on a farm. She graduated from Hughes High School. She attended college at Arkansas State University in Jonesboro, Arkansas. She took an online class in writing stories for children from Saint Albans VT. Writing stories for children has been one of her greatest interests. Working with children and enjoying their expressions after reading a good book inspired her to write stories for children. She especially like when the children would say, "Read it again." As a teacher, she enjoys working with children. Who Broke the Vase is her first book published.
