She knew that most men in their early 70s who served were in that war. He said, "No. the Korean War." Bingo, she knew he wasn't 71. He said he was 81. But, when she did the math in her head, she knew he had to be in his 80s, even mid-to-late 80s. He admitted he was a lonely widower and the only way to meet younger women was to lie about his age.
