Brigham Young had created a theocratic police state with the sole intention of enriching himself and his henchmen. Plebeian men were forced to work for slave wages in public works projects while their daughters were coerced into wedding whichever despicable bishop or stake president fancied them. Moreover, escape was impossible because Brigham's destroying angels would cut down any who tried to leave.
In the third and final installment of Betsy's adventures, she accidentally goes through another time portal, bringing her great-great-great-great niece, Beth Kim, and a delinquent friend, Howie D'Amato, with her. Landing in the fall of 1856-in Brigham City-the trio's circumstances couldn't have been worse. Betsy must now fend off an unending queue of creepy old Mormon polygamists intent on adding her to their harems.
