Wine enthusiast and local wine writer Bev Stenehjem used the Internet, social media, and old-fashioned gumshoe detective work to find the surviving relatives of eight of the earliest wineries still in existence. Together with the grandchildren and great-grandchildren of these ancestors, she poured over photographs dating back to the mid-1800s and selected the best images to tell their families' stories. This historical collection of photographs is a fascinating account of how the sacrifice and indomitable spirit of these people made a lasting impact on the wineries of Santa Clara Valley.
