"I am not what I ought to be.
I am not what I want to be.
I am not what I hope to be.
But still, I am not what I used to be.
And, by the grace of God, I am what I am."
This quote was penned by John Newton, a former slave ship captain who, after meeting his Savior, would give us the beloved hymn Amazing Grace. His quote echoes my heart's song... another redeemed, work-in-progress prodigal son traveling towards Eternity.
Wisdom for Eternity Travelers addresses spiritual battles Christians fight, not the horrors of wars fought on battlefields. Having served in the USMC during the Vietnam era, I was among those fortunate to return home alive, and without the physical and mental scars many of my brothers and sisters in arms suffered. My heart goes out to them.
In honor and respect to all those who have bravely fought and paid dearly for the freedom we enjoy as Americans, all proceeds from this book will be donated to the Wounded Warrior Project.
