W. H. Davenport Adams (1828–1891) was an English writer and journalist of the 19th century, and the founder of the Scottish Guardian. Adams started his career as a journalist, and later eventually made his reputation as a writer of popular science, a writer for boys, a translator, and a lexicographer. His best works include historical books about medieval England
