I have a hunch that a book on women's place in the church and in society at large when just a little over a year ago, women in Britain celebrated a hundred years of winning the right to vote, will create raised eyebrows. It is interesting to note that the world is still trying to find answers to the question of why we still have disparity between the pay of men and women, and people still question the ability of women in leadership roles. I try to establish in this book that even today, there are many traditions across the world that want to look down on women and to portray them as second-class humans. Sadly, there are some in the church family who believe likewise and are struggling to accept women as church leaders. If Jesus Christ is the head of the church, why don't we think about what he says when it comes to formulating doctrines for our churches.
