This compendium of nineteen papers, presented at a national seminar held at St. Joseph's College, Jakhama, attempts to explore the ways and means to remodelling the rural economy of north-east India. Focusing on the various aspects of rural development in North-East India, the contributors address the key issues concerning empowering and participation of people in rural development, infrastructure, finance, agriculture, and sociopolitical aspects of rural development. The role and performance of institutions in rural development has also been analyzed.
