This book, recently updated by the Author, should be at the hand of every professional with an interest, even peripherally, in the convoluted world of compliance-related issues. The Author has gone to great lengths to provide current information on the legislative issues that an employer must be aware of, whether operating nationally, regionally or indeed globally. Comprehensive references are provided where appropriate, enabling further research.
As awareness of the impact of activities counter-productive to operational effectiveness grows, so we need to broaden our range of resources to increase our understanding of our responsibilities and liabilities in the global market. This document provides direction on where to access the relevant legislation, in addition to providing important background information and definitions.
I cannot recommend this reference work highly enough, and the Author is to be congratulated.
Finally, a comprehensive resource!

In this exceptional book, Ellen Cobb has taken on a tall order: to provide a comprehensive tour around the globe, taking a snapshot of current legislative frameworks related to respect in the workplace matters. The book does a fabulous job at doing just that, and as such has become an invaluable resource to me in my work in the field. This is a book that every professional who is interested in respectful workplace issues should have on their bookshelf as a "bible" to refer to again and again. With the ever-shifting landscape and sensibilities around workplace violence, bullying and harassment, this book is the single place where one can find all the relevant information in one place, organized and comprehensive-what a time saver!

I cannot say enough about this book! Ellen Pinkos Cobb has created an indispensable resource for legal professionals, mental health practitioners, HR and management, business consultants, and other professionals confronted with difficult workplace issues on a regular basis. The book is informative, well organized, concisely written, and remarkably current. It is clear the author invested countless hours researching legislative developments and thoughtfully articulating international laws pertaining to workplace bullying, harassment, violence, and discrimination. I have an office full of books, and this is one of only three that permanently live on my desk! I highly recommend this resource. Thank you, Ms. Cobb!
