Her book, Bonnerue, is now available on Amazon.

Q. What is the inspiration for the story?

A.The inspiration for this story is based on my experience of teaching prisoners on a Road Camp in Virginia, going to Graduate School in Criminology in New York City, working for the Prisoners Union in San Francisco and writing a book about treatment in prisons for American Correctional Association.

Q. Is there a message in your book that you want readers to grasp?

A.One of the prisoners I taught to read, wrote a story about how he had spent his entire life in prison for fighting State Authorities who came to his home to take away his baby son. He was the funniest and happiest person I had ever met. His ability to transcend his own shackles inspired "Bonnerue".
