This story is about a man that left home because of issues growing up. He joins the military and finds out there can be true happiness. He gets adopted into the military family life and finds there can be happiness. He returns home one day to take care of a personal issue and while on leave he has a chance meeting with someone from his past.

This woman has had one failed relationship after another and because of her mother telling some day the right person will come into her life, she has a little hope. On this day she didn't want to be bothered and then this person across from her said one word that will change her life forever.

This woman from his past left him with bad memories. Even though he had this experience with this person he takes a chance and reaches out to her. To both of their surprise they find out they have more in common than they ever could have known.

It's a story of the geek that finds a connection with the most popular girl from school. They start out with nothing in common and end up with a connection that can't be broken. Throughout the story they realize they help each other over come life's hurdles together. Each one complementing the other in their life goals and in the end, they finally realize they both have grown beyond anything they could have imagined. She realizes that when she was young she knew little about life and other peoples feelings. He teaches her that yes, she made a mistake, but they were young and there is no need to relive it or hold it against that person.
