Book 4 in the Tales of Horror series. This time we have an anthology with 2 additional short stories added to follow Zombie Laboratory.
Exerpt:
He wasn't allowed to wear any clothing underneath the high level of hazmat suit he wore. He shivered in the facility's cool air a moment and looked blankly at the wall across from him while he got his bearings. It always took him a moment to get ready to leave the lab, especially with the way they set up the exit hall to the facility. He dressed in his worn, familiar, t-shirt, sweats and boxers, and then turned and left the sterile lab entry. The hall to the rest of the facility was lined with several video feeds of lab space, as well as scenes piped in from outside.
Supposedly, it was there to motivate the people walking through the hall. The scenes of rotting corpses, undead creatures shuffling blindly past cameras and as they wandered aimlessly, or finally finding something warm blooded to devour messily, no longer really affected him even with the details in glorious high definition. It was nothing but a blur of images he saw day after day in the lab. He didn't need any more motivation to do the work, after all…generally saving mankind was motivation enough. It didn't mean that it was any less tiring though, nor did it make him any more interested in the images on the walls.
