Diary of a Reading Child
A nine-year-old boy lives with his grandfather, with whom he has a strong relationship. The grandfather takes care of him, takes him to school, and even reads to him every day. Like other children, Kai Kai sometimes rebels against his grandfather, and sometimes they argue amicably, sometimes they make each other angry, laugh a lot, and even cry together. In this novel, Kai Kai has an enjoyable experience with reading. The grandfather reads to him, and he reads to his little dog, and his teacher praises him for his brilliance, tact, and gentle mischief. This novel combines two great values: the first is the intimate human relationships between children and their parents, grandparents, and friends, and even their relationships with animals. The other value is reading, and the novel highlights how reading is a means of enjoyment and knowledge alike.
