Whoever is given wisdom realizes the consequences of things, calculates the consequences, makes wise decisions, is guided to the right opinion, follows the path without excess or extravagance, and balances his path internally and externally. The Prophet (PBUH) used to supplicate for Abdullah bin Abbas: "O Allah, teach him wisdom." It was said: Wisdom is being right in speech. It was said: It is understanding from Allah. It was said: What the mind testifies to its correctness. Among its meanings is also performing the right of gratitude to Him, the Most High. Allah - the Most High - said about His righteous servant Luqman: "And We had certainly given Luqman wisdom, [saying], 'Be grateful to Allah.' And whoever is grateful is grateful only for himself. And whoever disbelieves - then indeed, he will be rewarded for his own good." For indeed, Allah is Rich and Praiseworthy." [Luqman: Verse (12)] This book includes the contemplations of a lover on the path of walking towards Allah. We see him sometimes wandering in the depths of wisdom, and sometimes picking up a glimpse of a verse or a whiff of a hadith, and in the end he presents to us a drop from the abundance of the wayfarers, from which every seeker may increase, and to which every thirsty person may take refuge.. since there is no salvation from the waves of the world except by the ship of love!
