The Brothers Grimm, Jacob and Wilhelm, were German linguists and researchers of German folk traditions. They collected folklore and published several collections called "Fairy Tales of the Brothers Grimm," which became very popular. They are also considered the founding fathers of Germanic philology and German studies.
The influence of the Brothers Grimm's fairy tales was enormous; from the very first edition, their wonderful stories won the love of children's audiences.
Since 2005, a collection of fairy tales by these outstanding German writers and folklore collectors has been included in the UNESCO Memory of the World register.
The fairy tales of the Brothers Grimm have been adapted into numerous feature films, cartoons, and anime, and immortalized in monuments.
