The Prophet is Gibran's most famous book, written in English and translated into more than fifty languages. It is truly considered Gibran's universal masterpiece. Its content is social, idealistic, and philosophically contemplative. It contains the essence of Gibran's views on love, marriage, children, homes, clothing, buying and selling, freedom, law, mercy, punishment, religion, morals, life, death, pleasure, beauty, generosity, laws, and more. It was delivered by a prophet called "Al-Mustafa", and the message of the Prophet is the message of a Sufi who believes in the unity of existence, that the soul thirsts to return to its source, and that love is the essence of life. In The Prophet, Gibran expresses his views on life by addressing the human relationships that connect one person to another.
