"Wild Swans" is a fairy tale by the Danish writer Hans Christian Andersen about Princess Eliza, who saves her eleven brothers from the curse of an evil queen. The fairy tale contains folklore motifs of an evil stepmother-witch, a despised beauty-stepdaughter, children turned into birds by a spell, a king in love with a poor girl.
