Joanna Trollope geb. 1943, arbeitete im englischen Außenministerium und als Lehrerin in Südengland, bevor sie in den Neunziger Jahren eine der Starautorinnen des Landes wurde, deren Romane regelmäßig verfilmt werden. Sie lebt in London und Gloucestershire.
