Autorenporträt

Glenn Gould, geb. 25. September 1932 in Toronto, gest. am 4. Oktober 1982 dort, war nicht nur Pianist, sondern auch Rundfunk- und Fernsehautor, Schauspieler, Schriftsteller. Mit seiner ersten Einspielung der Goldberg-Variationen 1956 wurde Glenn Gould über Nacht weltberühmt. Nach einer internationalen Karriere als Konzertpianist zog er sich 1964 ganz aus dem Konzertleben zurück, um nur noch im Tonstudio Musik zu machen.
