Ronnie Carroll wurde am 18.08.1934 in Belfast, Nordirland, geboren. Er sammelte erste Bühnenerfahrungen als Sänger bei verschiedenen Varieté-Shows. 1956 erhielt er seinen ersten Schallplattenvertrag. Sein erster Hit in Großbritannien folgte noch im gleichen Jahr mit Walk Hand In Hand- (1956, Platz 13). Es folgten weitere Hits mit -The Wisdom Of A Fool- (1957, Platz 20) und -Footsteps- (1960, Platz 36). Carroll nahm mit -Ring-A-Ding Girl- 1962 für England am Eurovision Song Contest teil und belegte den 4. Platz. In den britischen Charts erreichte der Titel nur Platz 46. 1962 gelang ihm sein größter Hit mit der Coverversion von -Roses Are Red- (Platz 3). Ein weiterer Erfolg in England war -If Only Tomorrow- (1962, Platz 33). 1963 folgte mit -Say Wonderful Things- noch ein 6. Platz in der englischen Hitparade.
