Plastic Ono Band war das Debüt-Soloalbum von John Lennon und Yoko Ono aus dem Jahr 1970. Es wurde von vielen als Johns bestes Solowerk gefeiert und gewinnt seither an Bedeutung und Verehrung. In den letzten Jahren wurde das Album in verschiedensten Best Of-Listen aufgeführt. Nach der Auflösung der Beatles 1970 erfuhren John und Yoko eine Periode der Selbstreflexion und des Experimentierens, wodurch das ehrlichste und emotional roheste Album entstand. Beide hatten im Sommer des Jahres mit dem Schreiben und den Demos in Abbey Road begonnen, die Aufnahme-Sessions fanden im September/Oktober statt.Mit der kleinen Kernband, die nur aus Ringo Starr am Schlagzeug und seinem alten Freund Klaus Voorman am Bass bestand und von Phil Spector mitproduziert wurde, erreichte das Album Platz 8 in den UK-Charts und Platz 6 in den USA.
