Die Meisterwerke von Henry Purcell und Georg Friedrich Händel sind von außerordentlich suggestiver Kraft: Ihr "Grand Style" prägt das Zeremoniell der englischen Krone bis heute. So erklang Händels Zadok The Priest seit 1727 bei jeder Krönung eines britischen Monarchen.
