Autorenporträt

Pierre Boulez, geboren 1925 in Montbrison, studierte bei Olivier Messiaens und
René Leibowitz. 1946 wurde er zum Leiter der Bühnenmusik bei der Compagnie Renaud/Barrault ernannt. Von da an folgten viele Stationen einer glanzvollen Karriere: Gastprofessur in Harvard, Chefdirigent des BBC Symphony Orchestra London, Musikdirektor der New Yorker Philharmonie, Dirigent des "Ring des Nibelungen" in Bayreuth, Planung und Leitung des IRCAM in Paris. 2009 wurde er mit dem renommierten Kyoto-Preis ausgezeichnet.
