Nancy Backus Roniger received a BA degree from Newcomb College of Tulane University and a MAET (Masters of Arts in English Teaching) from the University of New Orleans. She has been a teacher of grammar, writing, and literature for many years in the New Orleans area and is the author of The Duchesses of Paducah, a young adult novel about her childhood. She has spent her adult life soaking up the history and culture of New Orleans and the surrounding region. She particularly enjoys all things Cajun, which inspired her book about an alligator. Nancy now lives in Madisonville, La. with her husband, Tim, and three cats. This book is dedicated to her grandchildren; Riley, Felicity, and River.
