About Your Voice and Vocal Training tells you all you should know when you train your voice for singing. Like many other methods and books, it explains the connection between body and voice, the impact of body posture, vocal support, resonance and shaping of vowels, the difference and difficulties between head voice and chest voice when singing, and how to hit high notes, gain vocal power and agility. However, unlike many other methods, it tells you about mistakes and bad vocal habits that may occur if you train your voice without proper guidance or teacher. As healthy vocal production is the key for a better voice and better performance, it only includes exercises that you can safely practice on your own, without teacher, and with detailed instructions. It is suited for beginners and anyone who is interested to find out more about the voice, vocal training and singing. Singer, Songwriter and Vocal Coach, Karin Melchert has performed with numerous musicians and bands for more than 30 years. Her repertory includes a variety of styles from jazz, musical and chanson to modern pop- and rock songs. In 1998, after she had taken vocal lessons to improve and perfect her voice, she became more and more fascinated with the subject and made it a full time job. She began teaching vocal lessons at music schools and institutions in Luxembourg and Germany and, in the meantime, has trained hundreds of students and vocal professionals.
