This is Volume 1 (second edition) of a five volume series titled Biblical Hebrew for All (Volumes 1-5). Biblical Hebrew for All - Volume 1, is intended as a self-study textbook for beginners and undergraduate students, focused on basic grammar & strong verbs. As a whole, the full Biblical Hebrew for All (Volumes 1-5) series features: ¿ 6,223 Grammar examples directly from the Hebrew Bible ¿ 27 Paradigm Charts covering all verb classes ¿ 1500 Verb forms, parsed and translated ¿ 890 Terms in BHS footnotes with examples ¿ The frequency of nouns and verbs shown throughout The full five volume series literally 'lifts the veil' in that it comprises 'a selection of 400 passages from the Hebrew Bible, all fully explained and literally translated to illustrate the fact that a basic knowledge of Biblical Hebrew will enable the reader to compliment any standard English translation and discover much more from the original text'. As a result of his own passion and drive to teach others language, Tian Hattingh has put together straightforward methods and approaches which facilitate students to efficiently learn Biblical Hebrew, (as well as other languages too). Since 2002 Tian has been engaged in working and running ESL/IELTS language schools in Asia, and on taking sight (in photographs) of some of Tian's many hundreds (if not thousands in total) of enthusiastic, happy and joyful language students - one can immediately know that a wonderful teacher and tutor has been found. Tian has a passion and natural gift for learning, studying and teaching languages to aspiring students - and has been doing so for the last 47 years since he began studying the Zulu language in South Africa in 1974. The year 1974 also saw Tian begin studying Hebrew and it was not long before he was running beginner classes at a polytechnic in Rustenburg, South Africa, teaching others the Hebrew language. Since that time Tian has spent considerable time traveling in Israel further developing his understanding of Biblical Hebrew - and between 2014 to 2016 Tian conducted classes for beginners in Biblical Hebrew in the city of Shenzhen, China. Since 2016, since moving to Vietnam, as well as continuing to work at ESL/IELTS language schools, Tian has focused on teaching Biblical Hebrew via online methods - based upon the system of learning 'expressed' and illustrated in the five volumes of Biblical Hebrew for All. The five volumes cover the following: Volume 1: Basic Grammar & Strong Verbs Volume 2: Weak Verbs Volume 3: Doubly Weak Verbs Volume 4: Textual Criticism Volume 5: Lifting the VeilHinweis: Dieser Artikel kann nur an eine deutsche Lieferadresse ausgeliefert werden.
Christiaan (Tian) Hattingh was born and raised in South Africa. In 1974 he completed a four-year training course as a forest manager from the Saasveld Forestry College, now part of the Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University. He spent most of the next nine years as a training manager (sawmilling) in the Southern African timber industry. During this time, he studied the Zulu language, which is considered to be the lingua franca of the region, as a third language. In 1987 he completed a BA degree in psychology and philosophy at the University of South Africa. Starting in 1974, he studied biblical Hebrew for three years at the same university, and although he never achieved a formal qualification in the subject, he soon felt obliged to share his knowledge with others who were equally interested in learning more from the Hebrew Bible. As a result of this yearning, he later conducted part-time classes to beginners at the local polytechnic in Rustenburg, South Africa, where he was living at the time.He has been an avid birder for the past 42 years and is a founding member of the Rustenburg branch of BirdLife South Africa. He has been birding in Botswana, Zimbabwe, Namibia, Malawi, China, Thailand, and lately in Vietnam. He visited Israel several times, first as a Christian pilgrim and later to study the birds of the region more closely. Returning to South Africa in 2001, he presented talks on "Birding in Israel" at several BirdLife South Africa branches. In 2002 he moved to mainland China, where he became an ESL/IELTS teacher. In February 2012 he published Birds and Bibles in History, covering the history of the Tanakh, the history of ornithology, and all 409 references to birds in the Old and New Testaments. From September 2014 he conducted classes for beginners in biblical Hebrew in the city of Shenzhen in China until March 2016, when he relocated to Vietnam. He has been an ESL teacher, an IELTS instructor, and an online biblical Hebrew teacher there since then.
