Sophie Webb is often at sea and has traveled to many shores on research ships, including those of Hawaii, Mexico, Central and South America, Alaska, and the Antarctic. Her first book, My Season with Penguins, was awarded a Sibert Honor and the IRA Children's Book for Older Readers Award. When she is not out at sea, she makes her home in Felton, California.
