Borchert, SandraGeboren in einem berliner Vorort, begann die Autorin nach dem Abitur eine Ausbildung beim Radio, gefolgt von einer Ausbildung als Fremdsprachenassistentin, welche sie ins Ausland führte. Dabei erlernte sie 10 Sprachen. Privat ist sie alleinerziehende Mutter zweier Kinder und engagiert sich als Sterbebegleiterin in einem Kinderhospiz, sowie im Kampf gegen Kinderarmut in Deutschland.
