As the CEO/Founder of Lead & Ink, LLC., she has established a thriving business that promotes literacy and trauma resiliency as essential tools for empowerment within communities. Her mission is to equip parents, children, and all community stakeholders with the necessary skills and strategies to practice wellness in a natural manner. By combating stereotypical threats, racism, and misconceptions about different ethnic groups, she strives to empower minority individuals, fostering their confidence and sense of worthiness to excel in society.One of her most significant achievements is the creation of the Brown Girl Resilience Book Collection. This collection presents diverse representation of black and brown characters in books. This collection includes an array of children's books, journals, activities, and coloring books. By featuring fictional and non-fictional characters who have triumphed over adversity, She aims to inspire resilience and reflect authentic selves within book text.With over 20 years of experience as an educator, having served as both an Elementary and current Middle School educator, she brings a wealth of knowledge and insights to my work. As a Board Member of the Learning Disabilities Association of Georgia and a Facilitator and Adjunct Professor of Social Emotional Learning at Mount Holyoke College, she continuously seek opportunities to enhance my expertise and contribute to the field.In addition to her role as an author and educator, she is also a sought-after public speaker and has successfully conducted Author Visits, engaging with student bodies as large as 440 students. She has been hand-chosen to host a podcast through a Congressional Grant focused on Teacher Self-Care, recognizing the crucial importance of supporting educators in their well-being.Meanwhile, she continues to serve others in the community through her organization, Delta Sigma Theta, Sorority Incorporated, as she strives to make a meaningful and lasting impact on the lives of individuals and communities.She remains committed to her vision of promoting literacy (especially the Dyslexic population), resilience, and well-being. Above all she remains a dedicated wife and mother to her two Earth Angels, Nicho and Madi!
