Laura Esquivel

Laura Esquivel wurde 1950 in Mexiko geboren. Der internationale Durchbruch gelang ihr mit ihrem Roman "Schäumend wie heiße Schokolade", der in 35 Sprachen übersetzt wurde und über ein Jahr lang auf der Bestsellerliste der NEW YORK TIMES stand. Zu der Verfilmung unter dem Titel "Bittersüße Schokolade" von Alfonso Arau schrieb sie das Drehbuch, für das sie mehrfach ausgezeichnet wurde. 1994 kürten die amerikanischen Buchhändler ihren Erstling als Buch des Jahres.
