Twelve

ausgezeichnet

In my opinion the novel "Twelve" written by Nick Mcdonell and published in 2002 is a great novel because of the interesting and current topic. It deals with the life of a seventeen-years old person who sells drugs to rich kids in Manhatten.

After the first pages I was a little bit confused why the novel has so many characters, but in the end it was great because the novel did not get boring because every character has his own live. There is sometimes a lot of action, like in the end of the novel. I also liked the „language help“ on the bottom of every page, so I understood the story better. Futhermore the language is not too difficult and easy to understand.
Another reason, why I like the book is because of it's good and interesting topic that I mentioned before. I think it is sometimes very close to the real life today and it makes you think about it. The book has also a very good suspense curve that stays there until the end of the book. There are often unexpected turnarounds that make the book really exciting. The only thing I did not like that much about the book was the ending because most of the characters died or got shot. But this also includes that it is close to the real life because there is sometimes also no good ending.

All in all I can recommend the novel because it do not get boring and the story is easy to understand.
