"Not a paranormal romance in the strictest sense but highly entertaining"

The books begins, with the heroine, Sarah Dearly, waking up and realizing, that someone’s trying to bury her – while she feels very much alive. As it turns out, her blind date for the evening was a vampire who turned her against her will – and knowledge that something like vampires even exist – in order to live for all eternity with her. While trying to escape the lovesick vampire, she first had a run-in with three very blood lusty vampire-hunters and then a suicidal master vampire who in the end saved her live. And within the next week Sarah’s live is turned upside down, she lost her job and her reflection, isn’t able to devour anything but blood anymore, is growing nice pointy fangs, fell in love with her saviour, come to realize he’s married and has to run for her life from vampire hunters more than once. Doesn’t sound like fun at all? Well Sarah isn’t too happy about her new existence either and so with the help of another newly turned but unwilling vampire she starts looking for a cure.

The book is not a paranormal romance in the strictest sense, even though the tension between Sarah and Thierry flies high, but the main focus lies on Sarah and her coping – or not so coping – with her new existence. There are many really funny scenes, for example, when Sarah confronts her best friend, telling her she’s a vampire or when her mother interrupts her little amorous tête-à-tête with Thierry, only to ask her, if she wants eggs for breakfast, but there, too, is lot’s of danger and suspense and especially the plot about the vampire hunters takes great room of the book.
What I found really refreshing was that there were no sex-scenes in this book. Don’t get me wrong, I do like erotic and sex but most sex-scenes in paranormal romances are nothing more than standardized coy “IKEA sex”. Thankfully, Michelle Rowen skipped that part and concentrated on the more action packed aspects of the story. And I liked this book very much. It was funny, full of suspense and wonderful, lovable Characters from the stubborn, slightly vulgar heroine Sarah to Thierry, the broody master vampire, to Quinn, the hunter turned vampire, to George, the first gay vampire in a paranormal romance - as far as I know.

So, just read and enjoy...
