The novel „Nice Work”, written by David Lodge in the 80’s tells about man , Victor Wilcox, who is a engineering director of the company Pringle’s and Sons .During the story he meets an young and intelligent woman, called Robyn Penrose, a feminist university teacher specialising in the industrial novel and women's writing. He has never met anyone like Robyn and he becomes somewhat infatuated with her after a business trip to Frankfurt, where her linguistic skills helps him to clinch an important business deal. In my opinion the novel is a little boring, because it concentrates to much in the business life of the main characters, which for a reader doesn’t seem to be a reason to read the whole book. For the price 10 € you can invest the money in better books, which are much more informative about the English working life than “Nice Work”.
