Autorenporträt
Alan Marks wurde 1957 in London geboren. Er wuchs im bunten Treiben des Hafenviertels auf und besuchte als leidenschaftlicher Zeichner nach der Schule zunächst das Medway College of Art and Design, später dann die Kunstakademie in Bath. Danach erhielt er einen Lehrauftrag in London und arbeitete für Zeitschriften und Zeitungen. Seit fast 30 Jahren illustriert er Bilderbücher und wurde mit der Carnegie Medal ausgezeichnet.
