Turkish women roam European cities, some by choice, and others by kismet, in the 23 short stories in this collection. From the lustful tourist escaping the realities of her own world and the abandoned wife writing to the consulate in complaint of her husband, to the young au pair wandering the streets of London and the migrant worker in Berlin toiling at a factory, the women are heroines in their own right. The stories they command reveal varying experiences outside of their ethnic homeland--with differing results--and each provides insight into a unique and complex perspective of Europe.
