As weather volatility increases due to climate change, farmers will face increasing risks to their businesses. Farmers are challenged to make key decisions for their farms in the face of increasing volatile weather, as well as a proliferation of information sources. Studying the effect of climate variability and change on agricultural production is especially important for agricultural sector in Nigeria, which is heavily dependent on rainfall due to the country's limited irrigation capacity. This book assessed empirically the of effect on climate variability and change on yield of grain in Nigeria. This study was based on time series data obtained from various sources spanning from 1970 to 2012. Data obtained were analyzed using fully Modified Ordinary Least Square (FM-OLS) approach. This research will help business planners and executives think through potential problems and opportunities inherent in climate variability and change. It will be invaluable for crop based research presentation and implications to develop a deeper understanding of potential crop geographic shifts and quantitative scenarios that can be drawn from the information.
