The phenomenon of Catholic Lay Leadership continues to grow in our Catholic elementary and secondary schools. Over the past decade lay faculties increased dramatically with only about 4.7% of its professional staff consisting of religious and clergy. These Catholic Lay Leaders embrace a unique ecclesial ministry that must foster and promote Catholic Identity by making the Church present through the mission of building God's Kingdom in Catholic Schools. Catholic Lay Leadership also promotes a special interconnectedness among characteristics such as transformational and moral leadership along with the power to influence, inspire, and motivate that enhances faculty morale within the school community.
