Autorenporträt
Carolyn studied at Arts Educational Schools focussing on performing arts. This early training led her to successfully audition for several national theatre and television shows under her maiden name Carolyn Keston. These theatrical experiences fuelled Carolyn's passion for coaching young performers. She began teaching at Redroofs School for the Performing Arts, which her mother June had founded in 1947. The dedicated and professional tuition offered by Carolyn and her family have helped launch the careers of many Oscar and BAFTA award winning film and TV actors and West End musical theatre artistes.Carolyn married David Mayling in 1987. Together they had two daughters Ellie in 1988 and Rosie in 1991 with whom Carolyn shared her love of the arts (both girls attended Redroofs). Following the tragic death of their younger daughter Rosie aged just eleven in 2003, they honoured Rosie's wish to help sick children by founding Rosie's Rainbow Fund. The registered charity offers music therapy support for sick children, support for parents with children in hospital and bereavement services for parents who have lost a child. Over the years many thousands of children and families have benefitted from Rosie's legacy.
