Carolena Torres is a native Oregonian who has had the good fortune to travel several dozen times to different parts of Mexico. She is a singer, a guitar player and author of articles published in the online magazine 'Living at Lake Chapala', about her visits to many areas of Mexico. She is married to Joseph Torres who has been her companion in these travels and her biggest fan. A good friend and Boutique hotel owner repeated to her the saying made popular by the late Neill James of Ajijic, "When the dust of Mexico falls upon your heart, you will never be the same." And, the dust did fall on her heart and the idea of this, her debut novel, began to build.
