Carmel Uí Cheallaigh is originally from Co Mayo. She writes in Irish and English. Kevin Barry is her seventh book for children. Carmel visits schools, libraries and festivals in Ireland, the UK and USA, reading her stories and giving writing workshops to all ages. Currently she lives in Co Wicklow and works as a Senior Librarian in the Dún Laoghaire Rathdown Library Service
