This book aim is to determine the prevalence of S. haematobium infection among school pupils in Gwagwalada area council of the federal capital city Abuja.Nigeria.and To determine the association of S. haematobium infection with sex and Age of pupils and their parents occupation. This study is a cross sectional study, with 150 urine samples from each school. Place and Duration of study: University of Abuja Microbiology Laboratory Gwagwalada, Abuja, From during May 2003 and January 2004. Method is By Random sampling, urine samples was collected twice from each pupil from May 2003 to January 2004.Sedimentation was done through centrifugation, and S. haematobium egg in the sediments were searched microscopically.This study revealed that, the studied area is endemic for urinary schistosomiasis and there is need for government intervention to effectively control the Disease.
