This work consists of elastic scattering and fusion reaction studies, at near barrier energies, involving the weakly bound stable projectile 9Be and a medium mass target 89Y. The main aim of this work has been to study the effect of breakup on these reaction channels. In the few studies available at present involving 9Be projectiles, there have been inconclusive or conflicting conclusions on the observation of the threshold anomaly and suppression of the fusion cross-sections at near barrier energies. This work attempts at investigating these phenomena for the 9Be+89Y system, which would…mehr

This work attempts at investigating these phenomena for the 9Be+89Y system, which would further help in contributing to a systematic study of these reaction processes and the effect of breakup on these reaction channels for 9Be.
