Chandrama Goswami completed post graduation in Economics from The Gokhale Institute,Pune in 1995. Initially she worked in NEIBM and then joined Mangaldai College as Faculty in 1996. She completed her PhD in 2004 and was awarded the CSSSC-NRTT Short-Term Post-Doctoral Fellowship by the Centre for Studies in Social Sciences, Calcutta (CSSSC) in 2008
